One of our most frequently asked questions from clients is “how often and how tall should I cut my lawn?”
We suggest mowing the lawn once per week however once every 10-14 days is adequate. There are many benefits to cutting your lawn regularly. Lawn should never be reduced by more that 30% of the total blade length. The less you cut off, the better it is for your grass and more importantly its roots. Cutting more than 30% will shock the roots and stunt their growth resulting in an easier playing field for weeds to grow.
Unless we have been directed to do otherwise our customers lawns are cut between 2 and 2.5 inches. Cutting grass any shorter than 2 inches allows the sun to penetrate down to the soil. When the sun reaches your soil directly it increases the ability for weeds to germinate.
